With their strong investment in research and development, and culture of continuous improvement, our client is the industry leader in the manufacturing of industrial fabrics and composite materials. The organisation is currently seeking a Quality Technician for its Cambridgeshire based location.
The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:
*Undertaking investigations, Quality Projects and data collection exercises for the department under the guidance of the Quality Specialists to support Customer and business initiatives and development.
*Undertaking Quality System and Process reviews to ensure QMS is robust with sufficient instruction and depth.
*Becoming familiar with company software systems, Global and local, used to support QC and QA with a view to assisting with routine problem resolution.
*Taking a pro-active role in any requested audit programs, both internal and external.
*As appropriate, take the lead for Customer QMS specification reviews, including the creating and maintenance of procedures of relevant procedures.
*Supporting in the resolution of internal and external Customer queries including release documents.
*Supporting and providing cover for the existing administration functions for the preparation, authorisation, distribution and filing of Release Certification and Test Reports according to customer and specification requirements, liaising internally and externally when necessary.
*Maintaining quality records and management of archive facilities.
*Issuing and controlling internal specifications and quality documentation.
*Maintaining MRP systems for customer specification requirements and internal documentation system.
*Auditing of documentation to check compliance against business QMS systems.
*Contributing to customer / statutory audits by representing the Quality Assurance department
*HNC or equivalent in a scientific discipline
*Good level of Microsoft Office, SPC, Statistics, Minitab or other similar statistic package.
*Strong organisational skills, able to prioritise daily tasks, to meet often tight time constraints.
*Good communication skills both written and verbal and the ability to work well independently as well as part of a team.
*Experience of using Q-pulse/Pilgrim, LIMS or other laboratory based data base management system would be desirable.
*Fluent in English language skills both written and verbal.
