We are looking for a Lead Planner - In Service Support (ISS), responsible for all planning activities within ISS. This will involve the management of the planning process, planning system and planning resource to ensure an effective planning environment is maintained. As a Lead Planner - In Service Support (ISS) you will support the enterprise wide planning needs and ongoing development of the business planning capability and includes, but not be limited to, the provision of support, guidance and assurance activities across the business. The ISS business provides services spanning operations, obsolescence management and plant life extension. As part of the ISS PMO we require a highly capable planning team, part of which is a Lead Planner to manage the team and ISS planning activities. ISS do not have a Lead Planner and the planning team is split in the Project Teams, where the planning is done in silos. As part of IBPC and how we are going to operate Services a mature planning team is required. To reach that high level of maturity and integration we require a Lead Planner. Our nuclear business is a leader in propulsion system design and development for the Royal Navy's nuclear submarine fleet and the sole provider and technical authority, managing all aspects of plant design, safety, manufacture, performance and through-life support. Key Accountabilities - Planning lead for ISS with responsibility for the planning resource processes and system. - Support the development of schedules and integrate these into a Master Schedule to deliver the Projects, or Programmes, utilising analysis and scenarios for optimisation. - Consolidation of planning data within ISS via a master schedule and for providing management information, analysis and reporting to the management team as required. - Responsible for providing expert advice on planning matters within Services and Support and maintaining a standardised and disciplined approach to project planning. - Execution of the ISS planning cycle a governance around change control ensuring compliance. - Interface with the Submarines IBPC team to ensure effectiveness and implementation of the planning solution for IBPS in ISS. - Interact with the Nuclear PMO to assess impending policy or strategy changes for the impact on the plans within ISS. - Provide planning support to other parts of the business as required. - Manage assigned staff with respect to personal development and performance. Qualifications - Working as a Senior or Lead Planner in an Integrated Project Team environment experience. - Experience of overall project controls, baseline management, change control, resource management, coding, global change, portfolio management and variance analysis. - Experience of Earned Value Management and EVM techniques. - Professional qualification (APM) or relevant qualification (HND or Foundation Degree) would be an asset. - Demonstrate a positive 'can do' attitude to deliver on promises and commitments. - Adapt to changes in the working environment, managing competing demands to make the best use of time and resources. - Excellent communications and networking skills in a wide and complex organisation.
