New opportunity not to be missed Produce World Group has an opportunity for a Agronomy Apprentice to join the team based in Sutton Bridge. You will be on a full time permanent basis and be paid a competitive salary of £18,500 per annum plus benefits. If you are a motivated and responsible individual who has a passion for learning and is looking to develop a career within Agronomy, this could be the ideal role for you. As our Agronomy Apprentice you will be reporting directly to the Agronomy Manager you will undertake an apprenticeship scheme to obtain a Foundation Degree in Agri-Produce and Supply Chain Management. You will learn to monitor crops, provide crop intelligence and maintain relationships with suppliers. This role will commence in September 2017 and the Foundation Degree course will commence in January 2018. Key responsibilities of our Agronomy Apprentice - Provide crop intelligence from field to internal colleagues with regards to size, quality and yield. - Maintain relationships with suppliers and facilitate knowledge/information transfer. - Increase knowledge and understanding of crop quality and condition. Plan and execute regular store washups and compile results. - Monitor crops in Produce World storage. - Set up and monitor field trials. - Assess new varieties and feedback. Skills needed to become our Agronomy Apprentice - Experience of working within potato industry desirable. - Able to easily interpret high volumes of data. - Good level of computer literacy. - Desire to learn and develop a career within agronomy. - A confident communicator with both internal and external customers.
