Section Engineer _ Rail/Civil Location: East Midlands Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 Car & Package An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Section Engineer to work for a main contractor on major Rail Infrastructure projects varying from 10million - 20million GBP. Roles & responsibilities may include but are not limited to: - Manage a team of Site Engineers and Surveyors - Working closely with the client and stakeholders - Manage materials and site working with the Site Manager as the technical point of contact - Support the creation of Method Statements, Work Package Plans and Risk Assessments - Checking drawings and quantities and ensuring that the calculations are accurate for the work - Analysing designs and provide construction input and attending design reviews - Liaising with any consultants and/or sub-contractors engaged in the project - Supervising and monitoring other site labour force and monitoring the work of any subcontractors - Resolving any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise - Overseeing the selection and requisition of materials and plant for use in the construction and agreeing prices for items - Planning the work and efficiently organising the plant and site facilities in order to meet an agreed programme of deadlines - Preparation and follow up work planning Experience/Desirable: - Engineering Degree, HND or equivalent experience - You will have Civil Engineering bias with sufficient proven site experience where you will be able to demonstrate control of sub-contractors and a range of specialist site activity including temporary work, supply of major materials. - Ability to work to tight timescales, with good organisation skills and time management - Interpret drawings and using knowledge to set out site works - Computer literate - CSCS Card To Apply: You must be authorised to live and work in the UK.
