Position: Support Worker
Location: Wimblington, Cambridgeshire
Contract type: Permanent
Hours: Full & Part time available up to 37.5 per week
Salary: GBP7.62 per hour

About the Role:

Affinity Trust are looking for full or part time staff who would like to join them.

The service itself is a supported living service, you will help provide support for 3 people who live in their own self-contained flats; there is also an assessment flat that supports individuals on a six month assessment tenancy.

You will help provide support for individuals who have mild, moderate or profound learning disabilities and varied support needs. You will also be required at times to help support individuals who may at times present with behaviours that may challenge others.

You may be asked to provide support in some or all of the following areas:

-Support with shopping, assisting with budgeting
-Building/maintaining relationships with friends and family
-Household tasks like cooking, cleaning and laundry
-Personal Care, e.g. helping someone to bathe
- Social and emotional support

Sharing your interests and hobbies with the people you will provide support for and helping them to access their local community.

About You:

You will need to have excellent communication and be able to use a range of skills to support people, and enable them to actively participate in choices about their life.

For this role you need to be patient, have good sense of humour and be able to support people through good and bad days. They are looking for people who are committed to supporting the people they work with who are honest and reliable and who can be creative and flexible in their approach, enhancing peoples opportunities to grow and develop.
