Position: Male Support Worker
Location: Mepal, Cambridgeshire
Contract type: Permanent
Hours: Full and Part time available up to 37.5 hours per week
Salary: GBP7.62 per hour

About the Role:

Affinity Trust are looking for full time and / or part time male staff to join them at a supported living service in Mepal.

They are looking for staff are confident, able to set clear boundaries and have a consistent approach, be a good listener, observant, encouraging, motivating, patient and committed.

You will need to be confident to deal with challenging behaviours and be able to think quickly & calmly in order to de-escalate situations at an early stage.

An understanding of autism and complex behaviours would be an advantage.

About You:

You will need to have excellent communication and be able to use a range of skills to support people, and enable them to actively participate in choices about their life.

For this role you need to be patient, have good sense of humour and be able to support people through good and bad days. They are looking for people who are committed to supporting the people they work with who are honest and reliable and who can be creative and flexible in their approach, enhancing peoples opportunities to grow and develop.

They always base their support on the specific needs, choices and aspirations of the individual following their principles of person-centred support.
