An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to join HMLR. If you are a Project Manager with a strong, proven background in delivering often complex projects, with multiple stakeholders to strict time, cost and quality criteria then this is an excellent opportunity to progress your career.
We are looking for a qualified professional and someone who has and can demonstrate effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
Successful candidates will have significant, demonstrable experience of project planning, project delivery, project monitoring and controlling techniques (including budget management) on projects, using MS Project or similar Project planning tools.

One or more of the following qualifications or equivalents:
• Association of Project Managers (APM) Practitioner Qualification (APMQ).
• Qualified Prince2 Practitioner.
• Managing Successful Programmes Practitioner
• Agile PM (APMG group) or equivalent

Selection process details

• Experience of successfully managing complex Projects, including budget and resource allocation procedures.
• Experience of effectively managing stakeholders.
• Significant experience and understanding of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling using MS Project or similar Project planning tools.
• Effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills, including experience of participation and advising on Project boards.
At shortlisting stage your application will be considered against the examples and evidence demonstrating the essential criteria for the role listed on the Job Description attached.
The final selection stage will consist of a competency based interview, on the competencies listed on the Job Description.

*About the salary: For existing civil servants where a level transfer occurs existing salary will be honoured. Where this falls below the HMLR minimum the minimum will be paid. When HMLR maximum is exceeded existing salary will be retained on a mark-time basis.
An individual joining HMLR on promotion from another government department / agency will be placed on the minimum of the higher pay range.
Current HMLR apprentices are eligible to apply for all stages of recruitment competition. Current apprentices who are successful in gaining a new post within HMLR will continue with the apprenticeship studies where possible until completion of the Apprenticeship Framework.
