The Company: Our client, a market leading UK organisation is looking for an ambitious Financial Accountant with a proven track record to join their highly recommended Leicestershire team. The Opportunity: The successful candidate will be a qualified chartered accountant (with at least two years PQE) have excellent excel skills, and possess the ability to present and communicate at all levels of the business, including board level. Responsibilities within this role include: - Manage a team of two Financial Analysts - assist with streamlining their processes, and taking responsibility for their development. - Prepare various journals and workings at month end, and associated balance sheet reconciliations. Implement process improvements as appropriate. - Assist with cost reviews during month end. - Assist with month end reporting, both to the UK Board, and to Group. - Work with the Financial Controller and Management Accountant to ensure the integrity of the general ledger. - Preparation of year end statutory accounts, and provision of statutory information to Group Accounting, to assist with DCC group accounts. - Manage audit process for interim and year end audits. - Prepare information for half year and full year reporting. - Ownership of the Corporation Tax submission process: to include preparation of information for external consultants, review of draft computations, liaising with DCC Group Tax team, ensuring submissions are made on time. - Assisting with ad hoc queries of a technical nature, relating to, inter alia: Accounting, Corporation Tax, VAT and other taxes, Defined Benefit Pension Scheme, insurance policies, Senior Accounting Officer documentation, Company Secretarial matters. - Assist in preparation of budgets, weekly forecasts, and quarterly re-forecasts. - Systems related improvements, tasks and upgrades. - Support the Financial Controller in liaising with Group Internal Audit. - Supporting the Financial Controller and Finance Director in projects where technical expertise is required. About you/Skills/Qualifications: We are looking for candidates with: - Experience of both IFRS and UKGAAP; - Strong excel skills; - Ability to work to tight deadlines; - Experience of process improvement; - Ability to work in a fast-paced, constantly evolving workplace environment; - Experience of managing people.
