AM2 Assessor - Peterborough Regional College
Starting at GBP19,927 rising to GBP22,899 with experience in the role. Market Allowance of GBP3,000 is also payable for holding a level 3 Electrical Installation qualification.
Peterborough Regional College is a large, successful college of further and higher education. Our Employer Services & Apprenticeships Academy delivers Apprenticeship Frameworks across a number of vocational sector areas across Peterborough and the wider region.
Our AM2 Centre is a busy and thriving hub that delivers end-point assessment for the Electrical Installation qualification to candidates from across the region.
If you are an Electrical Sector area specialist and looking for a new challenge and would like to utilise your skills and knowledge whilst developing your own career, this opportunity will be rewarding and fulfilling. We currently have a permanent, full-time opportunity for an AM2 Examiner. In this role you are required to work as part of the Electrical team in the Employer Services & Apprenticeships Academy.
You will be assessing workplace candidates who will be undertaking Achievement Measure 2 (AM2) Skills tests and re-tests. You will be required to operate within the procedures and processes of the NET licencing agreement under which the AM2 Centre is bound which will include co-operating with any quality monitoring requirements and ensuring the necessary standards are upheld at all time.
The working hours will usually be 8.30 am to 5.00 pm from Monday to Thursday and 8.30 am to 4.30 pm on Friday. However, the working hours will vary and will need to be the best fit for the candidates.
The successful candidate will have a good level of education to a minimum of level 2 in English and Maths, along with a relevant Electrical Installations qualification at a minimum of level 3 with a minimum of 5 years recent relevant and industrial experience and able to demonstrate in-depth subject area knowledge.
Ideally you will also already be a NET approved AM2 examiner and Assessor qualified (A1 or TAQA or equivalent) but this is not essential as the College will support you in achieving this as part of your professional development.
If this is the right role for you then you will be highly motivated, a self-starter and a strong team player with the ability to prioritise and co-ordinate effectively.
You will also need to be a confident and competent IT user. Exceptional communication skills are essential, (both verbally and written) along with excellent interpersonal skills to allow you to form strong relationships and collaborate effectively with your Colleagues.
The College offers many good employment benefits including 30 days holiday entitlement plus Christmas close down (or additional payment for hourly employees), access to the Local Government Pension scheme, and many on-site benefits and facilities, including a gym and on-site nursery. This position will be based at our Peterborough Park Crescent site.
