Overview

We are seeking an outstanding multi-skilled individual to work in our friendly, busy head office and small conference facility in Foxton near Cambridge. We are an educational charity that runs residential and non-residential programmes for less advantaged young people to ensure they reach their full academic potential. The office is a comfortable modern building within the conference complex. The Administration Assistant is a full time post and will be working with the Education Team on a diverse portfolio of projects.

Line Management

The line manager will be the Office Coordinator.

Responsibilities

Working in a small but growing friendly team, the Administration Assistant will:

Support the team with administration of the Scholars Programme, Inspiring Excellence Programme, INVOLVE

and the Advisory Service

Perform reception duties including welcoming delegates and visitors to the centre and dealing with e-mail and

telephone enquiries

Maintain current database records

Carry out general administrative work associated with the running of a busy office Support the marketing of our activities

Person Specification

Specifically the post holder will possess:

Administrative experience (ideally in an educational environment, but not essential)

A pleasant and confident approach towards delegates and external contacts both in person and on the

telephone

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail

Accurate keyboard skills and computer literate with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel and preferably

experience of using a database programme Good organisational skills

The capacity to work in a team, sharing ideas and responsibilities The capability to work independently and to meet given deadlines The flexibility to adapt to the needs of a small office environment

Terms and Conditions

Salary GBP17,000 - GBP19,000 p.a. depending on experience

Working hours 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday, some weekend or evening work may also be available Contributory pension scheme is available

25 days holiday plus bank holidays

As we work with young people, the successful candidate will have to provide an enhanced criminal records disclosure from the DBS (the Trust will arrange this)
