We require 2 qualified Approved Mental Health Professionals who are dynamic, skilled and enthusiastic team members to provide high quality Mental Health Act assessments and reports as part of the Countywide AMHP Team.

These posts are for 3 years fixed term and full time but job share will be considered.

The appointed persons will expected to travel throughout the County of Nottinghamshire. You will be part of a team of 10 Advanced Social Work Practitioners, a Team Manager with an attached business support administrator. Although the team is currently staffed by social work AMHP's we are happy to receive applications from practising AMHP Nurses or AMHP trained Occupational Therapists.

Your duties will also include manning a single point of access referral system, gathering assessment information and deploying colleagues to assessments. You will also be expected to advise a variety of professionals about matters relating to mental health legislation and other challenging demands such as supervising students and supporting other AMHPs.

Excellent communication skills, record keeping, experience of safeguarding issues as well as processes and quality report writing are also essential. You will be dealing with service users, their carers, and a range of fellow professionals from partnership agencies. You will be required to deputise for the team manager on occasions, to work on your own initiative, meet deadlines whilst working under pressure and have an awareness of and a commitment to Equality and Diversity and Health and Safety issues especially lone working.

Informal contact can be made with any of the team or the team manager on 0115 8041826
